Good American Family Dramatizes the ‘Real-Life Orphan’ Case
Hulu has released the trailer for Good American Family, a limited series dramatizing the bizarre true crime case allegedly linked to the movie Orphan. The series stars Ellen Pompeo as Kristine Barnett, the woman who claimed her adopted daughter, Natalia Grace, was actually an adult posing as a child.
Natalia Grace later appeared on Dr. Phil, and her story was extensively investigated in a three-season Investigation Discovery series, which sought to determine the truth behind the Barnetts' shocking allegations. Good American Family, however, appears to explore multiple perspectives, as the trailer emphasizes it is “inspired by multiple stories, perspectives, threats, interpretations, and accusations.”
The cast also features Mark Duplass as Michael Barnett and Imogen Faith Reid as Natalia Grace, alongside Dulé Hill, Christina Hendricks, and Reno 911!’s Mary Birdsong.
The series premieres on Hulu on March 19—bringing its unsettling story to audiences everywhere. But at what cost?
