The Los Angeles Lakers, one of the most iconic franchises in sports, added another milestone to their storied history on Tuesday night. In a groundbreaking NBA moment, LeBron James and his son, Bronny, became the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together.


LeBron, in his record-tying 22nd NBA season at age 39, was part of the Lakers’ starting lineup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Twenty-year-old Bronny, making his NBA debut, joined his father on the court with four minutes left in the second quarter. The crowd at Crypto.com Arena erupted in cheers as the duo checked into the game together, creating an unforgettable moment on the opening night of the NBA’s 79th season.


Before stepping onto the court, LeBron offered Bronny some fatherly advice, captured by TNT Sports: "You see the intensity, right? Just play carefree though. Don’t worry about mistakes. Just go out and play hard."

The Lakers won the game 110-103, with LeBron scoring 16 points, while Anthony Davis led with 36 points and 16 rebounds. Afterward, LeBron reflected on the historic moment, expressing his gratitude for being able to share the court with his son, calling it "one of the greatest gifts" he’s ever received.


Bronny, for his part, described his NBA debut alongside his father as a surreal experience: "Checking in for the first time, that’s a crazy moment I’ll never forget."


The night was also special for Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr., the first father-son duo to play together in Major League Baseball. They were in attendance to witness LeBron and Bronny's historic achievement, linking two generations of sports history in one unforgettable night.
