Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul live updates, results and analysis

Mike Tyson is set to face Jake Paul in an eight-round heavyweight showdown at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday night, airing at 8 p.m. ET on Netflix. The bout, regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, features two-minute rounds and 14-ounce gloves, unlike the standard 10-ounce gloves used in heavyweight matches.

Originally slated for July 20, the match was postponed after Tyson, 58, experienced a flareup of an ulcer and required medical care during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in May. Tyson, with a record of 50-6 and 44 KOs, made history in 1986 as the youngest heavyweight champion at age 20. The following year, he unified the division's three major belts and defended them six times until his stunning defeat by James "Buster" Douglas in 1990.

Jake Paul, 27, boasts a record of 10-1 with 7 KOs. He began his boxing journey in 2020, achieving six straight wins primarily against former MMA competitors. His sole defeat was at the hands of Tommy Fury in February 2023, but Paul has since rebounded with three consecutive victories.

In the co-main event, Katie Taylor, the undisputed junior welterweight champion and ESPN's No. 2 pound-for-pound boxer, faces off against No. 3-ranked Amanda Serrano. This highly anticipated rematch follows their thrilling April 2022 encounter at Madison Square Garden, which Taylor won via split decision with scores of 96-93, 97-93, and 94-96. Their first bout, the first women's unification fight to headline a sold-out Garden, was crowned ESPN’s 2022 women’s fight of the year for its electrifying action.
