Nintendo’s new Switch 2 console to be released in 2025

Nintendo has officially unveiled its newest console, the Nintendo Switch 2, in an announcement eagerly awaited by gamers for years. Set to launch in 2025, the console serves as the successor to the highly popular Nintendo Switch.

In a promotional video, Nintendo revealed a larger version of the Switch that retains a similar design to its predecessor. One notable change is the redesigned Joy-Con controllers, which now attach to the sides of the main unit rather than sliding in.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will support exclusive games while maintaining compatibility with both physical and digital Nintendo Switch titles. However, Nintendo noted that some original Switch games may not be fully compatible with the new system.

Details on the console's features and release date remain scarce, but Nintendo promised more information during its April Nintendo Direct event. Additionally, the company plans to host "Nintendo Switch 2 Experience" events in various cities, including Los Angeles, New York, London, and Paris, starting in April. These events will allow players to try out the console firsthand, with ticket registration opening this Friday..
