Auto Fire Reported Near Santa Clara River Amid Santa Ana Wind Warnings
Ventura County, Calif. – Crews are actively battling a fire that broke out in Ventura County on the evening of January 13. The blaze, named the "Auto Fire," was reported around 7:15 p.m. along the Santa Clara River, near Ventura Boulevard and Auto Center Drive in Ventura, California. The fire is in close proximity to Buenaventura Golf Course and River Ridge Golf Club.
As of 8 p.m., officials have not disclosed the extent of the damage or the number of acres burned.

Areas near the Santa Clara River along Ventura Road
West to Victoria Avenue
East to the 101 Freeway in Ventura County along Auto Center Drive
Road Closures
Victoria Avenue between Gonzalez Road and Olivas Park Drive
Context and Concerns
The fire coincides with warnings about the return of Santa Ana winds, which are expected to sweep across Southern California this week. While not as strong as last week’s winds that contributed to the spread of the Palisades and Eaton fires, gusts of up to 70 mph are possible in some areas, raising concerns about additional fire outbreaks.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the Auto Fire.
