Cardinals vs. Chargers highlights: Kyler Murray leads Arizona to close MNF win over LA

The Arizona Cardinals edged out the Los Angeles Chargers 17-15 with a last-second field goal in an ESPN+ exclusive edition of "Monday Night Football." Despite Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert's impressive performance—completing 27 of 39 passes for 349 yards—Arizona's defense held strong, adopting a "bend but don’t break" approach that kept Los Angeles out of the endzone all night. The Chargers’ only points came from five field goals by Cameron Dicker.

While the Cardinals’ offense has struggled in recent weeks, they managed to deliver when it mattered most. Quarterback Kyler Murray both threw and ran for a touchdown, while running back James Conner was the game’s X-factor, making pivotal plays and contributing to Arizona's 165 combined rushing yards between him and Murray. In total, the team rushed for 181 yards.

Murray described the game as a "must-win" during the ESPN broadcast, and with this victory, the Cardinals (3-4) are back in contention in the NFC West, sitting just one game behind the first-place Seattle Seahawks. Arizona now holds key wins over division rivals San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. Meanwhile, the Chargers fall to 3-3, having lost three of their last four games, missing an opportunity to stay above .500 despite a favorable upcoming schedule.

The defeat also marks a rare Monday night loss for Jim Harbaugh, who had been 6-0 on "Monday Night Football" before this game.
