A 911 call from hotel staff in Buenos Aires revealed their concern for former One Direction star Liam Payne's wellbeing shortly before his death. Staff reported that Payne was “overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol,” breaking items and causing significant disruption in his hotel room. They urgently requested police assistance, unsure if his life was at risk.

Payne, 31, had been staying at the hotel for two or three days prior to his death.

In the wake of the tragic news, many celebrities have shared their condolences. "The X Factor," the show that launched Payne's career, posted a tribute, expressing heartbreak over his passing and acknowledging his lasting legacy in the music industry. Media personality Paris Hilton and musician Ronnie Wood also shared their grief, along with the Backstreet Boys, who offered heartfelt sympathies to Payne's family, friends, and fans.

Liam Payne rose to global fame as a member of One Direction, a band formed by Simon Cowell on "The X Factor." Known for hits like "What Makes You Beautiful" and "Story of My Life," the group became a worldwide sensation before its members pursued solo careers.

Payne had been candid about his struggles with fame, substance abuse, and mental health challenges, revealing in a 2023 video that he had been six months sober. He had also shared plans for a new album and tour before suffering a kidney infection that led to their postponement. Payne is survived by his 7-year-old son, Bear, with former partner Cheryl Cole.
