Linkin Park Selects Emily Armstrong From Rock Band Dead Sara as New Singer, Reveals Tour and Album ‘From Zero’
In a press release, it was revealed that Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, and Joe Hahn had quietly started meeting up again over the past few years. Rather than "trying to restart the band," they collaborated with other musicians and developed a special connection with new members, Armstong and Brittain.
Discussing this new chapter, Shinoda shared, “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
Their new project, The Emptiness Machine, is said to capture the essence of Linkin Park’s signature sound, while also reflecting their evolution. Shinoda expressed how empowered the band feels with the new lineup and energized by the fresh music they’ve created together, blending their classic style with new sonic explorations.
