Falcons vs. Chiefs score, results: Kansas City outlasts Atlanta in 'SNF' win

The Kansas City Chiefs continued their strong start to the season with a 22-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons on "Sunday Night Football." This victory pushes the Chiefs to 3-0 after escaping a controversial Week 2 win against Cincinnati.

In Week 3, Kansas City sealed the win late when their defense stopped Falcons' running back Bijan Robinson on a crucial fourth-and-inches play. Atlanta’s previous drive ended in controversy, as some felt Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was interfered with by Chiefs safety Bryan Cook in the end zone, but no flag was thrown.

The Falcons, despite missing two key offensive linemen in the second half, kept the game close. Quarterback Kirk Cousins led a strong drive but failed to convert on fourth-and-5 from the Chiefs' six-yard line, allowing Kansas City to close out the game.

Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice had a breakout performance with 12 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. Carson Steele led the ground game with 72 rushing yards, stepping up in Isiah Pacheco's absence.

Despite some misfires between Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, the Chiefs remain undefeated. Mahomes, who had a minor scare after slipping during a kneel-down, confirmed post-game that he was uninjured.

The Falcons kept it competitive, tying the game earlier with a Drake London touchdown and a successful extra point from kicker Younghoe Koo, but ultimately fell short in the final moments.
