Lynn Ban, a renowned jewelry designer and cast member of Netflix's reality series Bling Empire: New York, has passed away at the age of 51. Her family shared the heartbreaking news on Wednesday.
"My mum passed away on Monday," her son, Sebastian, wrote on her verified Instagram, alongside a series of family photos. "I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her."
Late in December, Ban had shared details of a life-changing skiing accident during a family trip to Aspen, Colorado.
"Christmas Eve on a beautiful sunny day in Aspen... I had a ski accident that would change my life," she wrote on Instagram. She described catching a ski tip and falling but initially felt the injury wasn’t severe, even skiing to the base of the mountain. A paramedic, however, suggested she get checked at a hospital, a decision that ultimately saved her life.
Doctors discovered a brain bleed that required an emergency craniotomy. Ban recalled waking up after surgery with her husband, Jett Kain, by her side.
